AFOMEF shares the “Event highlights” videos from the event held on January 30, a key milestone during which the six projects of the Western Functional Area were officially presented: LANEAN, MUGAZIKLO, TRANSFERMUGI, HEZHI, SAREBIDE and EUSGUNEAK.

Working, studying, or moving across the border will become easier in the coming years thanks to the launch of the six European projects presented last Friday at FICOBA. With a total investment of €23 million, these initiatives will directly impact employment, mobility, and multilingualism, strengthening cross-border cooperation between Euskadi, Navarra, and Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

AFOMEF will hold on 30 January at FICOBA (Irún) the launch event of the six cross-border cooperation projects of the Western Functional Area: LANEAN, HEZHI, MUGAZIKLO, TRANSFERMUGI, EUSGUNEAK and SAREBIDE, co-financed by the European INTERREG POCTEFA 2021–2027 programme with ERDF funds. 

The project was presented in Pamplona with the participation of five media outlets and the Elhuyar Foundation. Its aim is to modernise and strengthen the dissemination of audiovisual and musical content in Basque.

The EMPLEO Egunak Information Days will offer, in a single venue, practical answers for cross-border employees and businesses. The 2025 edition will take place on 17 and 18 November at the headquarters of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Euskadi Navarra Euroregion in Hendaye, organised within the framework of the European project LANEAN – AFOMEF POCTEFA.

The fair will take place on Thursday, 23 October, at FICOBA (Irún), from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It is aimed at both experienced professionals who wish to reorient their careers and people who are actively seeking employment. Admission is free.

The Euroregion Nouvelle-Aquitaine Euskadi Navarra is seeking an IVY volunteer (Interreg Volunteer Youth) to join their team and support the development of the AFOMEF project. This project is part of the INTERREG POCTEFA programme, which promotes cross-border cooperation between Spain, France, and Andorra.

On Friday, February 14th, the members of AFOMEF's Steering Committee—composed of representatives from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, Euskadi, Navarra, the Department of the Atlantic Pyrenees, the Community of Agglomeration of the Basque Country, and the Provincial Government of Gipuzkoa—met to advance the proposal of projects that will be presented to the programming committee of the POCTEFA program.

Yesterday, 23 October at 2:00 pm, the official closing of the call for projects of the POCTEFA AFOMEF programme took place, a key initiative to promote the development of the cross border 'life basin' in the Western Functional Area.

On Friday 24 May 2024, the webinar for the AFOMEF call for projects launching took place.

The call seeks to fund structuring projects to boost employment, mobility and multilingualism in the cross-border territory.

The AFOMEF call for projects will remain open until 23 October 2024 at 14h.
