Launch Of The Call For AFOMEF Projects

The call seeks to fund structuring projects to boost employment, mobility and multilingualism in the cross-border territory. The AFOMEF call for projects will remain open until 23 October 2024 at 14h. All details are now available at www.afomef.eu and www.poctefa.eu.

The launch of the Call for projects of the Western Functional Area of the POCTEFA 2021-2027 was presented this morning in Hendaye.

The event was organised by the EGTC Euroregion New Aquitaine Euskadi Navarre, the entity responsible for coordinating the development and promotion of this Functional Area, one of the five areas identified by the POCTEFA programme that integrates the territories of Euskadi, Navarre and the south of the New Aquitaine Region to the Baretous Valley.

Endowed with 14.8 million euros from the ERDF, the AFOMEF call for projects will finance structuring projects in the fields of cross-border employment, cross-border mobility and multilingualism.

The media presentation was attended by the following participants:

  • Ana Ollo, Second Vice-President and Minister of Memory and Coexistence, External Action and Basque Language of the Government of Navarre.
  • Mathieu Bergé, Regional Councillor of New Aquitaine, Delegate for the Euroregion, Cross-border Cooperation, Ports and Airports.
  • Mikel Anton, Director for the European Union of the Basque Government.
  • Joseba Erremundeguy, Councillor for cross-border, European and international cooperation of the Agglomération Pays Basque.
  • Iker Goiria, Advisor, Gipuzkoa Provincial Council Cabinet
  • Jean Pierre Mirande, Vice-President in charge of mountain policies and cross-border cooperation, delegate for the mountain plan and delegate for relations with Navarre of the 64th Departmental Council.
